Summer
on the Farm
Summer on the Farm is an educational and recreational, highly experiential program that takes place at the lush green farm of the American Farm School. Our goal is to offer children carefree days filled with games and experiences of cooperation, exploration, experimentation, discovery, and a connection with the land, its production, and the farm’s animal life.

HUB
The American Farm School Hub identifies funding opportunities, offers consulting services, submits proposals and implements strategic projects on the agri-food and regional development sectors. The office collaborates with AFS and Perrotis College faculty, as well as external partners.
Acting as an innovation intermediary, the HUB manages projects that incorporate high technology into everyday agricultural practices, while creating added value for Greek producers by connecting these scientific fields with the real economy, generating value for the entire supply chain. In collaboration with market stakeholders, it promotes and drives focused actions that change the way Greek farmers work, bringing them closer to the next revolution in agriculture.
Agricultural Extension
The American Farm School participates in a number of development activities and programs in collaboration with private companies and other similar organizations in Greece and abroad. The School develops important initiatives in contract farming through Corporate Social Responsibility programs and provides knowledge through experiential training, consulting services, and field research.
These activities focus on innovative methods and technologies for the quantitative and qualitative optimization of production, as well as environmental protection to enhance production in the agri-food sector. Extension programs are developed on the AFS campus as well as on remote locations throughout Greece.

Ceremonies at the AFS Chapel
The chapel of Saint John Chrysostomos of the American Farm School was founded on August 26, 1952, in the presence of the Archbishop of Thessaloniki, Panteleimon I, and was inaugurated on September 7, 1955. It was built by students and staff of the School under the supervision of Charlie House. Before building the chapel, students, residents, and staff attended church services at Princeton Hall.
The primary purpose of the chapel is to meet the spiritual needs of the students, scholars, staff, and the residential community of the American Farm School.
The School also allows individuals from the broader community to use the chapel for religious ceremonies (weddings and baptisms) for themselves and their close relatives.
The broader community includes: alumni, members of the Board of Directors, the Friends Association, and other volunteer groups of the School, staff members, and donors.
