Summer on the Farm
Summer on the Farm is an especially experiential program, which is educational and fun, and takes place on the lush grounds of the American Farm School. Our goal is to offer children carefree days full of games and team experiences, exploration, experimentation, and discoveries. They will experience a new approach to the earth and its produce, as well as the rich animal life on the farm.
With Sower as our symbol of creation and holistic development for a good life, and with the Farm School and its produce as our field of action, we will explore and learn how to harvest the vegetable gardens and orchards. We will meet the Farm animals, knead, cook, and create something new with our products. We will take part in “scientific” research and come up with entrepreneurial proposals on current sustainability issues – all for a good life. The program is harmoniously complemented by theatrical techniques, games for emotional expression, storytelling and dramatization of myths, visual art creations, clay workshops, movement and sports games, and first-aid activities.
This year’s summer program is comprised of three sessions:
Session A: 16/06- 26/06 including Saturday 20/06/26
Session B: 29/06-10/07 optional three-day extension 13-15/07/26
Session C: 24/08- 04/09 optional three-day extension 07-09/09/26
The children’s groups are organized into three levels according to age —“Young Sowers on Discoveries!”, “Sowers and Caretakers”, and “Sowers, Inspirers and Creators”. They take part in a different educational and recreational program every day, tailored to each age group, in shady outdoor spaces. Older children also have the opportunity for daily oral practice in the English language.
