Support our Mission
By supporting the American Farm School, you help deserving youth evolve into caring, responsible citizens, respectful of the people and the environment.
Why Give
At the American Farm School, education is grounded in engaged learning, an environment fostering collaboration and mutual endeavor, and a shared commitment to a sustainable future.
We cultivate curious, motivated learners to become resilient, problem-solving global citizens. Whatever careers our graduates choose to pursue, their robust AFS education focused on the life sciences — rooted in hands-on educational experiences and opportunities for applied research — prepares them to excel.
Your gift to the American Farm School enables students to fulfill their dreams, empowers faculty to inspire discovery, and provides the facilities that promote learning.
Now, more than ever, your support is needed. The best way to join our efforts is through a gift to the Annual Fund. Every contribution, whatever the size, makes an impact. Thank you for choosing the American Farm School!
Contact us at donations@afs.edu.gr to discuss your philanthropic vision and what we can do together to create a sustainable future for the next generations.
The American Farm School is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. For more information on making a gift to the American Farm School, contact the School’s U.S. Office, Tel. 1-212-463-8434, usoffice@amerfarm.org.
Our Priorities
Gifts to the Annual Fund support everything the School is and does. They provide deserving students with needed scholarships; scientific equipment for laboratories; seeds, tools and animal feed for the practical program on the campus farm; contemporary technology for the library; utilities for the classrooms, residence halls and farm — and so much more.
The American Farm School Scholarship program is the biggest and oldest program of its kind in Greece. Donations towards the Scholarship Program allow students of limited means to study at AFS and reward students with exceptional academic performance.
All the students of the Vocational High School and Perrotis College receive a scholarship that covers anything between 25%-100% of the total value of their studies. Students from the General High School and the Haseotes Middle School receive scholarship support credited by academic merit.
Great faculty members inspire students. They open their minds to new possibilities. They advance their disciplines, while also helping students make connections across the curriculum. They create and shape the Learn by Doing experiences that are the hallmark of an AFS education.
Your gift in support of Faculty may establish an endowed position, help a faculty member attend professional training or conferences, or advance their research.
Where students learn affect how they learn. Thanks to our donors, AFS’ beautiful, 350-acre campus is a productive, living learning environment designed for students to thrive and grow.
The generosity of donors has transformed our campus in recent years. Gifts for capital projects make an enormous impact, one that is multiplied through the years to affect new generations of students.
By making a gift to the endowment, you help safeguard the School’s finances through changing economic times. Interest earned on endowment funds is used in perpetuity to support the School’s mission.
Your endowment gift may be designated to the General Endowment or the Perrotis College Endowment. Existing endowment funds include those for operations, scholarships, faculty support, research, and facilities maintenance.

How to Give
There are different ways to support the American Farm School. Below you can explore the ways that satisfy your personal interests and your investment portfolio.
Gifts in Memory
or in Honor
Trees are symbols of hope and regeneration and one can celebrate the birth, baptism, marriage or another important moment of someone’s life, or honor a beloved’s passing. All donations are recorded on the “Book of Remembrance” that is kept in the chapel of St. John Chrysostomos on campus. Upon the donor’s request, we inform the honored families of the donor’s gesture by sending an honorary or memorial card.
A limited number of benches around the AFS campus are available to donors who aim to honor a family or friend this way.
Planned Giving
Planned giving allows you to integrate your gifts to AFS into your overall financial, tax, and estate planning. A planned gift may have advantages for the donor, while also contributing significantly to the School. Planned gifts are a legacy that honors the donor and the donor’s family, as well as benefits future generations of AFS and Perrotis College students.
For more information on making a planned gift, contact Laura Sommers, Finance Officer, U.S. Office, +1-212-463-8434 or at lsommers@amerfarm.org.
By including the American Farm School in your will, you may make a final gift to strengthen the School’s endowment or to support another educational need.
By creating an estate or trust, individuals provide annual support to the American Farm School past their lifetimes.
The Metamorphosis Society recognizes and honors the generosity and foresight of those individuals who have made provisions in their estates to include the American Farm School, and who have apprised the School of their intentions. The name “Metamorphosis” is chosen for the resonance this word has in the School’s tradition of education that brings about positive change, or metamorphosis, in the individual.
