The Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Management at Perrotis College invites applications for a full time faculty position with a strong academic and professional background in agronomy, with expertise in academic research, and applied field experience.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of Sustainable Agriculture
• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and learning methods
• Conduct research activities and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research
• Develop and maintain a strong, independent research program with publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
• Secure external research funding (national & international)
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service; collaborate with farmers, associations, government bodies, and other relevant stakeholders
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment, departmental administration, and service to the institution.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Precision Agriculture, Crop Production or related agronomy fields
• Scientific background and experience in Precision Agriculture and Field Crop Production
• Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting field and greenhouse experiments
• Ability to advise and work with farmers on best practices in sustainable crop management
• Broader experience in sustainable crop systems and regenerative agriculture
• Evidence of effective teaching ability in English and interest in pedagogy
• Demonstrated excellence in research (publications, grants) and, for higher ranks, leadership in the field
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage in interdisciplinary work

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in fruit tree and olive production
• Experience in greenhouse crop management
• Academic or professional experience in the United States
• Familiarity with the US and/or UK higher education systems
• Knowledge of Greek language

Perrotis College invites applicants for part-time faculty positions, serving the Sustainable Agriculture and Management program in the 2025-2026 academic year.

 

Perrotis College offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture and Management, Business Studies, Food Science & Technology and Environmental Science. The approach of the College is strongly interdisciplinary, while its pedagogical methodology is both research oriented and practical, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning-by-doing projects.  Perrotis College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) in the USA and its programs are also validated by Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK).

 

Position Description and Responsibilities:

 

The successful applicants will serve as part-time lecturers during the fall 2025 and spring 2026. Each course requires 4 contact hours and 1 office hour per week, in addition to the timely submission of course related administration in conjunction with the Perrotis College Registrar. On appointment, adjunct lecturers are encouraged to participate in Perrotis College sponsored research and supervise student research projects.

 

Successful applicants must have a background documenting their ability to teach one or two the following courses:

 

Fall 2025

• Post-Harvest and Olive Processing

 

Spring 2026

• Introduction To Livestock Science
• Olive Production Systems

 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Ph.D. degree within the related disciplines and with expertise in the associated courses outlined above
• Proficiency level of spoken and written English (teaching will take place in English)
• University level teaching experience

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to design and lead research projects connected to the lecturer’s subject area
•  Documented industrial experience
•  Strong motivation and willingness to contribute to the department needs
• Studies or work experience in the USA
• Familiarity with the US or UK educational systems
