Θέσεις Εργασίας

Αποστολή θέσης εργασίας: Απασχόληση σύμφωνα με το καθημερινό πρόγραμμα εργασιών στο Εκπαιδευτικό Πτηνοτροφείο (ενδεικτικά: τάισμα, έλεγχος πτηνών, συλλογή και συσκευασία αυγών, καθαρισμοί – συντήρηση εγκαταστάσεων & εξοπλισμού).

 

Απαραίτητα προσόντα:

  • Απολυτήριο Λυκείου ή ΕΠΑΛ ή Εμπειροτέχνης (*Στην περίπτωση του εμπειροτέχνη, θα πρέπει να διαθέτει σχετική εργασιακή εμπειρία)
  • Εκπληρωμένες στρατιωτικές υποχρεώσεις
  • Παρατηρητικότητα, προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια, ακριβή εκτέλεση οδηγιών, ικανότητα για επίλυση προβλημάτων, προσαρμοστικότητα στις αλλαγές, εργατικότητα, συνέπεια, επικοινωνία και συνεργασία.

Θα συνεκτιμηθούν:

  • Άδεια οδήγησης γεωργικού ελκυστήρα
  • Γνώσεις διαχείρισης ζωικού κεφαλαίου

The American Farm School was founded on the outskirts of Thessaloniki in 1904. Building on more than a century of tradition cultivating stewards of the land, the Farm School programs, which range from pre-K through higher education undergraduate and graduate studies, prepare future leaders who value and understand the sustainable use of natural resources, preservation of the environment, application of the life sciences for solving problems, and effective utilization of information technology. True to its mission, the American Farm School is preparing leaders for service to society as responsible and knowledgeable citizens.

 

Position scope

 

Reporting to the President of the Institution, the Executive Administrative Assistant will manage the Office of the President and provide administrative assistance to the Chief Operations Officer.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Serves as point of contact and liaison between the President and the President’s Leadership Team as well as other staff as needed
  • Serves as point of contact and liaison between the President and the Board of Trustees in coordination with the Office of Institutional Advancement
  • Coordinates communication with Ministries , Municipalities and other institutions as needed
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings and appointments, prepares agendas, books and sets up meeting rooms, takes minutes, when necessary
  • Provides general administrative assistant duties, including the handling of correspondence,  answering telephone calls,  preparing documents in English and Greek, maintaining documents’ archive
  • Prepares/coordinates the preparation of various reports and presentations
  • Coordinates events and meetings organized by the Office of the President.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Certification in secretarial / administration studies or related field (e.g. B.A in Business Administration or English/Greek Literature)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an educational environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Greek and English (native speaker and writing skills of both languages required)
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, Google web applications and design tools such as canva.  Readiness to use AI powered productivity tools
  • Ability to record and transcribe minutes of meetings
  • Capacity to maintain the confidentiality of all transactions and communications
  • Ability to respond verbally or in writing to all constituents in a polite, sensate and competent manner
  • Ability to understand and prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
  • Ability to keep track of and meet deadlines

FALL 2026 – SPRING 2027

Perrotis College invites applicants for a part-time faculty position in the Sustainable Agriculture & Management program during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Perrotis College offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture and Management, Business Studies, Food Science & Technology and Environmental Science. The approach of the College is strongly interdisciplinary, while its pedagogical methodology is both research oriented and practical, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning-by-doing projects.  Perrotis College is accredited by the New England Council of Higher Education (US) and its programs are also validated by Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK).

 

Position Description and Responsibilities:

 

Adjunct Lecturer

The successful applicant will serve as part-time lecturer during the fall 2026 and/or spring 2027. They will teach one course per semester requiring 4 contact hours and 1 office hour per week and will be encouraged to participate in Perrotis College sponsored research and supervise student research projects.
Successful applicants must have a background documenting their ability to teach one or more of the following courses:

Building on the long educational tradition of the American Farm School in Thessaloniki and its parent institution Iowa State University in USA, the AFS University of Science & Technology, AFSU – U.L.E. – accredited under the framework of Law 5094/2024 (Government Gazette Issue B’ 4704/29.7.2026) – aims to provide high-quality, English-language education in fields related to agriculture, food systems, life sciences, and agribusiness. Through a combination of disciplinary mastery, applied research, experiential learning and use of emerging technologies including AI, AFSU – U.L.E. will prepare students to address global challenges in sustainable agriculture, food production, and innovation in the agri-food sector.

Each of the Departments invite expressions of interest for full time and part time faculty positions of all academic ranks –Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor- with a strong academic and professional background in corresponding field, with expertise in academic research, and applied field experience.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver courses in the relevant field.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and learning methods.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student dissertations and theses.
  • Participate in curriculum development, assessment, departmental administration, and service to the institution (may vary depending on the rank and type of contract).
  • Provide student advising.
  • Plan and conduct independent research.  Develop and maintain a strong, independent research program with publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and participation in conferences.
  • Engage external stakeholders and international collaborators. Secure external research funding (national & international).
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, university and extension service; collaborate with industry, associations, government bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Advise/consult farmers, food producers and related professionals on best practices.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • PhD in related fields.
  • Evidence of effective teaching ability in English and interest in pedagogy.
  • Experience in supervision of student theses and dissertations.
  • Good command of Greek and English language (spoken and written).
  • Excellent digital skills (Office Suite, Learning Management Systems e.g. Moodle).
  • Relative scientific background and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting field and/or lab experiments, where applicable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in research (publications, grants) and, for higher ranks, leadership in the field in the form of supervised doctoral and/or postdoctoral research and research group leadership.
  • Possess an established research network within Greece and abroad.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships between academia and industry.
  • Strong work ethic, professional integrity and a collaborative work style.
  • Analytical skills, communication, mentoring & advising, adaptability.
  • Academic or professional experience in the United States or in American institutions worldwide, and/or familiarity with the US higher education systems will be favorably assessed.
